How do I invite others to my group on OneGreatFamily?
OneGreatFamily provides an excellent platform for collaborating on your genealogy with other family members. This collaboration can be with cousins or distant relatives who belong to various groups or with those you invite to become part of your group in OneGreatFamily.
Every member of your group will see the family tree from the group's perspective. This means that all of the members of the group will see each individual's efforts in adding to and improving the quality of the family tree. This also means that each member of your group can accept hints and conflicts on behalf of the entire group.
Working within a group is an excellent idea for any small group of people who are sharing the same genealogy records. Group work is ideal for family organizations who want to assign different family members to work on different parts of the family tree.
When you begin your experience on OneGreatFamily, you choose a username and password for yourself. You also choose a unique group name and password for any group you create. The group name and password can be shared with other members of OneGreatFamily, so they can view and work on OneGreatFamily from your perspective as well.
To invite others to participate in your group in OneGreatFamily, please refer to the following instructions:
- Log into OneGreatFamily. This will take you to the Group Chooser page.
- Click on the link, "invite others to your group." This link is found on the right-hand side of the page.
- Choose which group you want to invite people to join. (This is especially important if you are a member of multiple groups.)
- Fill in the form with as many people as you desire to invite to your group. The form supports will send your invitation to as many as 10 people at a time.
- Edit the message in the form below. The message will automatically insert your information, the name of the recipient, the name of your group, and your group's name and password.
- Submit the form to send the invitation.
After sending your invitation, you may want to call or send an additional email to explain more about OneGreatFamily and your reasons for using the site.
You may also want to include your personal username in the message you send. If any of the individuals you invite become subscribers, you can get a free month added to your subscription. Those you invited simply need to enter your username in the space provided when signing up for their subscriptions.
